48 hours in Oklahoma City | Avid Hotels

January 16, 2019

This past weekend we took a little getaway to Oklahoma City. I wasn't expecting for us to have as much fun as we did! I thought it would be a great family getaway for some good ole R&R. Little did we know, Oklahoma City was filled with so many great eats, cute boutique stores, and endless family fun. We stayed at IHG's newest hotel line called Avid Hotels. It was innovative, fresh and oh so comfortable! Check out our video for a little recap on how our trip went!

An Overview of Avid Hotels:

Avid hotels is every business travelers dream. It is a new line of hotels that focuses on delivering the basics done exceptionally well, at a fair price. The hotel is clean, fresh and focuses on delivering you everything you need with out all the frills. It has all the essentials you need for everyday travel, comfortable beds and seamless technology everywhere you turn. When you walk in you immediately feel welcomed and when you leave you feel rejuvenated, rested and ready to take on the next day.

Avid Hotels opened its first location in Oklahoma City in the suburb of Quail Hill. Surrounded by upscale restaurants this hotel is an absolute must when traveling to Oklahoma City. We can't thank IHG & Avid Hotels enough for the amazing opportunity to check out their newest line of hotels.

Best Places to Eat with Kids in Oklahoma City:

1. Chigama: This Mexican asian fusion restaurant is an absolute delight.  We enjoyed amazing asian Mexican tacos, a great dumpling appetizer and to top it off they make delicious margaritas! The ambiance was light and fresh, and the service was out of this world. Check out their yelp page for an array of photos and dishes that would knock you off your feet! 300 W Memorial Road Ste 103 Oklahoma City, OK 73120

2. Hatch Early Mood Food: Pancake flights, Benedicts and Mimosas need I say more? Seriously, how can you say NO to this place!? This brunch hot spot is in right outside of downtown in an up in coming area that is filled with restaurants. The area is super cute and the restaurant is located in the historic Buick Building. The food is excellent and the environment is casual-cool. This hot spot is great for families, I highly recommend going a bit early to get a table the wait can be quite long. What did we have? I had the Avocado Toast, it  comes with an egg on top and the portion was enormous, defiantly shareable. For desert, we got an Oklahoma shaped pancake, it was airy, light, and a totally worth every decedent bite. Hatch is a definite must try! 1101 N Broadway Ave Set 100 Oklahoma City, Ok 70303

3. Kitchen 324: With over 1,000 reviews on yelp and with 4.5 stars, we had to try this downtown delight. Kitchen 324 is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. We were able to get seated right away and they make the most incredible pastries. Head to this brunch place for a little more of an upscale feel with food that will leave you feeling totally refreshed. I had the fried green tomato Benedict, and it was tangy, savory, and so incredibly delicious! They also have really good JONUTs. Cronuts that are filled with with custard or jelly. If you have room for desert, head to their pastry case and pick something out, it will be worth every bite. 324 N Robinson Ave Oklahoma City, OK 73102

4. Tamashii Ramen House: We went to Oklahoma City and had the best ramen I've ever had. This Japanese style ramen house specializes in a rich creamy ramen that will have you leaving full and happy. If you're not into the ramen scene, they also have great fried rice dishes and apptizers as well. I had the Miso Corn Ramen, and it was TO DIE FOR. This place is absolute heaven for any foodie. 321 NW 8th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73102
