DIY // Modern Herb Garden

August 2, 2017

I absolutely love DIY projects. They are an awesome excuse to do something creative,  save money and have a little fun while your at it! Today I’m sharing a dollar tree DIY that is fun for the whole family.

The Dollar tree is a bargain hunters paradise. When it comes to DIY projects, this place is a mecca for amazing deals and trinkets! Today I am sharing a cute way to elevate vases from the dollar tree to create a modern herb garden. Follow the directions below for some cute various of your own!

Materials:

– Assortment of glass vases

– Paint Brushes

– Acrylic paint (choose whichever colors you want!)

– Masking tape or Painters tape (either will do)

– Metallic Paint Pens (gold or silver)

– Herb plants

Directions:

1.) Wash and clean the vases thoroughly. It helps he paint adhere to the vase.

2.) Use the masking tape to create a design on the vase, by breaking off pieces and sticking onto the vase. This is where you can get creative, feel free to make a design as simple or as elaborate as you would like!

3.) Using the acrylic paint, paint the vase and go over the masking tape. Once the tape is removed it will create a crisp design and create negative space.

4.) After you paint the vase allow several hours for the paint to dry.

5.) Once the paint is dry remove the masking tape and voila! Your design is revealed.

6.) Using the metallic paint pen go over your paint lines to create a crisp metallic contrast.

7.) Once your vases dry, plant your herbs in the vases for a unique, beautiful and modern look!

I hope that your herb garden brings new life to your kitchen and that you have just as much fun as I did making it! Photos brought to you by Coffee Creative.
