DIY Cupcake Bouquet

February 14, 2017

If you haven’t been to the grocery store, gotten online or watched tv lately… Valentines Day is right around the corner. Like, it is really soon…its literally TOMORROW. Before you call 1800 Flowers to frantically get all your last minute-orders placed I thought it would be fun to share a little tutorial on how to make a cupcake bouquet instead of a flower bouquet. Why? Because seriously, who wouldn’t want a bouquet of cupcakes? They’re more delicious than flowers and they last longer too!

DIY Cupcake Bouquet in 15 Minutes

Materials:

– Styrofoam Ball (These are available in various sizes at Hobby or Micheal’s. Size of ball may vary based upon your desired size of bouquet. I purchased a 6inch ball.

– Tissue Paper

– A small pail, Vase or Pot (whatever item you want to have your bouquet sitting in)

– Scissors

– Ribbon (optional)

– Cupcakes ( I purchased mine premade from sprouts, but you can make your own as well)

Directions:

1.) Select a base for your bouquet to sit on. It can be anything from a small pot to a big mug. I used a Valentine’s Day pail that I found at Micheal’s. Make sure that your styrofoam ball will fit tightly inside your base without any room to move around.

2.) Place your base in the middle of a few pieces of tissue paper, and cut a circle around your base.

3.)Once you have cut your tissue paper into a circle take the tissue and set it in your pail, pressing down into the pail and then put the ball on top.

4.) take a tooth pick and prick it into the foam ball, pressing it down until half of the tooth pick is showing. Make sure the pointed side is upward.

5.) Grab a cupcake and press the cupcake over the toothpick, making sure that the tooth pick has punctured through the base of the cupcake.

6.) Continue inserting toothpicks throughout the ball and putting a cupcake on top. It looks better if you make sure the cupcakes are close to open another.

7.) Once cupcakes have covered the entire styrofoam ball you are finished! For a finishing touch tie a ribbon around the base of your vase.

Voila! You have a gorgeous cupcake bouquet that is not only unique it is a fun little craft to make! The project only takes about 15 minutes and is the absolute perfect gift for teacher appreciation week, birthdays or Valentines Day! Have fun and feel free to be as creative as you would like! Happy Valentine’s Day Y’all and thanks so much for following along with me! I can’t tell you how much I love and appreciate each and every one of you!
